Fair The World Veterans Program

Standing with those who served.

Veterans are our number one priority for tents and all available essential supplies, with personal support to connect them to partner organizations, government programs and services that meet their needs in Los Angeles County and surrounding communities.

Shelter with dignity. A connection to the next step.

Veterans are our number one priority for tents and all available essential supplies. Our veterans program combines practical shelter with personal support to help those who served connect with the resources they need.

We will help veterans connect directly with organizations we partner with and navigate access and enrollment in government programs and other community services. This includes help understanding application steps, preparing required information and following up on referrals for housing, benefits, health care and other needs.

We will verify and validate veteran status through a private eligibility review. Verified veterans can choose a distinctive veterans tent and their own dedicated tent layout, helping outreach teams recognize participants and connect them with veteran-focused support. The distinctive tent identifies participation in our verified veterans program; it does not display private service records.

With the veteran’s permission, we can coordinate with partner organizations and share confirmation of our review. Where a partner accepts that confirmation, it may reduce repeated verification steps and help support reach the veteran sooner. Each organization determines its own eligibility, documentation and enrollment requirements.

Veterans may choose a tent with a small Veteran label and U.S. flag or the standard blue and silver-gray version. Visible veteran markings and participation in the dedicated layout are voluntary.

Verified veterans will be offered their own dedicated tent layout, separate from the general tent arrangement. This clearly organized veterans area will improve visibility and help outreach teams identify where veteran-focused support is needed, coordinate visits and connect participants with housing, benefits and other resources. Joining the dedicated layout and displaying veteran markings is voluntary.

A coordinated tent program

Verified veterans will receive first priority for compact two-person tents and all available essential supplies. Every tent stays part of the same permanent FTW identification system.

Your tent, your choice

Veterans may request the patriotic design or a standard tent. Displaying the veteran markings is voluntary; removable markings are planned so personal preferences can change.

Support beyond the tent

We will help veterans connect directly with partner organizations, understand government and community program requirements, prepare application information and follow up on access and enrollment for housing, benefits, health care and other support.

Respectful eligibility review

Verification stays private.

We will verify and validate veteran status by confirming military service and current shelter needs through a private conversation with Fair The World or an appropriate veteran service partner. Staff will explain any documentation needed and how to provide it safely.

Do not send discharge papers, military IDs, Social Security numbers or other sensitive documents through these website forms. If you do not have paperwork available, tell us so we can discuss a next step.

Privacy in the tent system

  • Public QR pages should not reveal a person's veteran status, contact details, exact location or verification documents.
  • Staff should record that verification is complete instead of keeping unnecessary document copies.
  • Names, photographs and personal stories are shared only with specific permission.

The secure verification and staff record system is planned; these forms collect initial requests only.
